Renewing car registration is by far the most convenient and the easiest transaction that I’ve ever experience in Kuwait, next to renewing a dependent visa, before the new no visa stamp on the passport.
Ok, what do you need to prepare before proceeding to the traffic department?
- You need to secure insurance. This cost around 20 KWD, depending on the type of vehicle.
- Copy of a valid Civil ID (Iqama)
- Original car registration (Daftar)
The insurance company will provide you with the document along with your car registration. Proceed to the traffic and present the documents to the inspector who will sign your document if your car passed the test.
Proceed to the counter and present the signed documents; take a 5 KD stamp and give it to the next counter. Wait for them to call for your name to receive the new car registration
