Tuesday Siren Test in Kuwait
Siren test at 10 am: The Civil Defense Directorate General will test the siren system at 10:00 am on Tuesday, says Assistant Undersecretary for Operations at the Interior Minister Major General Abdullah Yousef AlMuhanna. In a press statement, Al-Muhanna disclosed the department has upgraded the system and all the manual sirens had been replaced with automatic gadgets which are compatible with the digital tetra communication system which is capable of linking the siren system with the electronic boards on the roads.
Al-Muhanna said the new siren system is unique due to the clarity of its sound throughthe consistent vibration mechanism which can reach 1.5 kilometers on a straight line from the position of the siren across 360 degrees radius. He explained the siren system has seven tones and three of which have been selected – intermittent to warn the public that danger is imminent, rising and falling tone which signals the occurrence of danger, and continuous tone which signifies end of danger
Types of sound:
- A single tone which is not continuous indicates possible danger.
- A wave sound indicates of something that has already happened.
- A continuous tone means that danger is over.
